Drew Janssen

Drew is a Santa Barbara local who has honed his coaching skills over the years. With a personal connection to building communities, Drew has always strived to provide a platform for his family and others to benefit from and enjoy. Having grown up with five younger siblings, he understands the importance of fostering a supportive environment that encourages growth and development.

With a solid foundation in coaching, Drew has amassed an impressive resume throughout his career. He has coached Jr. Olympic women's artistic gymnastics levels 2-10, displaying his expertise and versatility in training athletes at various skill levels. Drew has also served as the head coach of gymnastics Pre-Team groups, where he has nurtured young talents and laid the groundwork for their gymnastic journeys. His expertise extends beyond the technical aspects of gymnastics, as he has also been actively involved with ninja and parkour programs, diversifying his skill set and providing a holistic approach to coaching.

While Drew has coached in various disciplines, his true passion lies in trampoline training. He firmly believes that trampolines offer unparalleled benefits for acrobatics, catering to individuals of all abilities. Trampoline training provides a unique range of exercises that enhance strength, flexibility, and coordination, making it an ideal training tool for athletes aspiring to master acrobatic skills.

By harnessing the power of trampolines, Drew empowers his athletes to explore new heights and push their boundaries. His coaching methodology emphasizes skill progression. This systematic approach not only ensures continuous improvement but also minimizes the risk of injury by allowing students to develop the necessary strength, coordination, and body awareness at each stage.

Do you have a favorite piece of equipment or gear you can’t live without?
Trampoline has to be my favorite piece of equipment!

What’s your favorite thing about teaching trapeze/parkour?
I love the face people (especially kids) make when a skill clicks for them and they hit it for the first time.

What’s your go-to song or playlist for training?
I’m a huge country music fan, so if I could listen to some Boot Scootin’ Boogie or any upbeat country music, I would.

What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?
I was a collegiate cheerleader for UCSB!
